Yes Dodge made a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , but I'd argue they are better at letting you know when they've made a fast car.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I think Dodge gets the award for most obvious performance model with the Little Red Express Truck. The fastest vehicle made in the U.S. in 1978 …. and Dodge certainly wanted you to know that when you saw one. A close second goes to the Dodge Daytona…

Kinja'd!!!

That giant wing and pointy nose had to stick out back in the day. But what say you Oppo, am I missing something obvious?

I'd have to agree. No other automaker had as much fun as Dodge when if came to design. Mopar, at least back then, prided itself as being Detroit's bastard child.

I'd argue the 454 Silverado. Every truck that rolled off the assembly line had a sticker there on the box … and besides that I don't they did anything different for it (visually).

The thing is, after the 70's and before Diamler, niche car performance was non-existent at Chrysler. It was all about looks. The fastest Daytona was a model, not a package. The 300m special had 3 more hp. 3!!

Then, SRT. Thank God for SRT.

I'm talking the SS 454, in 90 they all came in black with red interior with bucket seats. They are 1/2 ton pickups with the suspension parts of a 3/4 ton and tuned to be able to handle thanks to special sway bars and other bits and pieces plus they had the special decal package and special air dam spilter and fog lights that wasn't available on a plain silverado

It's a custom double wing made out of wood designed to handle the intense down force a race car needs. AKA a pallet.

I don't think the exhaust on the lil red as performance as more of it screaming 1970's and riding the trucker bandwagon of the late 70s with all the movies coming out at the time. Really besides the exhaust its all cosmetic stuff ad well.

1974 carrera RSR. Basically a track-ready car with a license plate. They formed the basis of the first IROC series cars. They also cleaned house in the 70s for Porsche in the lower categories.

Technically not exactly how it came from the factory, at least in the UK, because the wing was illegal - so it came supplied in the boot (with pre-drilled holes in the bootlid) to be mounted by the owner.

Ya know, the issue with the V-10 stick in a truck is axle spring wrap up, esp when shifting. Big time axle chatter. The auto has none of that, since there is no let up between shifts. And there's plenty of power here to run an auto.

I had a stock V-10 in a Ram with an auto, and it was an awesome truck. Diesel torque, no smoke or noise.
